Meaning & Source of Shlok

Meaning: Those who perform salutations to the Sun day after day, poverty will not arise in their lives even across thousands of births.
Hence one can say Aditya are givers of wealth. There are 12 sun signs; in Vedic astrology, every sun sign represents a particular form of Aditya, totaling twelve Adityas (Dwadash Adityas). The reference table is given below:

Abhijit Rashi & Vitteśvara
The Sun serves as the ultimate giver of wealth and sustenance. In the natal chart (D1), the 4th sign counted directly from the natal Sun’s position is designated as the Abhijit Rashi. The ruler of this specific zodiac sign is defined as the Abhijit Rashi Lord.
To maintain absolute technical clarity throughout this discussion, the following precise terminology is established:
- Abhijit Rashi: The exact zodiac sign occupying the 4th house position from the natal Sun.
- Vitteśvara: The planetary ruler of the sign that is positioned 4th from the natal Sun (the Abhijit Rashi Lord).
Parivartana (Sign Exchange) Exceptions
Rule 1: Sign Exchange of the Sun Sign Lord
- Rule: When the Sun sign lord is in a Parivartana (sign exchange), count four houses from the exchange sign to find the actual Vitteśvara.
- Example: Sun and Jupiter are in Scorpio (ruled by Mars); Mars is in Sagittarius (ruled by Jupiter).
- Mars and Jupiter exchange signs.
- Instead of counting from Scorpio, count four houses from Sagittarius to Pisces.
- Result: Jupiter (lord of Pisces) becomes the final Vitteśvara.
Rule 2: Sign Exchange of the Vitteśvara (Abhijit Rashi Lord)
- Rule: If the initial Vitteśvara itself enters a Parivartana, the planet it exchanges with takes over as the final Vitteśvara.
- Example: Sun and Saturn are in Libra; Venus is in Capricorn. This shifts the Abhijit Rashi from Aquarius to Aries, making Mars the initial Vitteśvara.
- Mars and Mercury exchange signs.
- Result: The ultimate Vitteśvara shifts from Mars to Mercury.
Rule 3: Ketu Conjunction Reversal (“Vipareetam Ketoh”)
- Rule: When Ketu is conjoined with the natal Sun, the direction of the calculation completely reverses. Instead of counting four houses forward (clockwise), you must count four houses backward (anti-clockwise) from the Sun’s position to determine the Abhijit Rashi.
- Example: Sun is conjoined with Ketu in the sign of Leo.
- Standard Count (Without Ketu): Four houses forward from Leo results in Scorpio.
- Reverse Count (With Ketu): Counting four houses backward from Leo results in Taurus.
- Result: The Abhijit Rashi shifts to Taurus, and its ruler Venus takes over as the functional Vitteśvara.
Since this technique is rooted fundamentally in the concept of the Dwadash Adityas, the primary analytical focus must remain strictly on the Rashi (the zodiac sign) itself. It must not be confused with the concept of an Abhijit graha (planet) or an Abhijit bhava (house format); the core emphasis rests entirely on the sign boundaries. In Vedic philosophy, Rashis represent the sustaining architecture of Lord Vishnu. Therefore, the trajectory of this energy is traced by analyzing where this specific Rashi lord is placed within the Navamsha (D9) and other crucial divisional charts.
It is highly auspicious to chant the specific Aditya Mantra corresponding to the Abhijit Rashi (the 4th sign from the Sun, properly adjusted for reversals) as a potent remedy to manifest financial stability and remove material blockages.

When a planet closely associated with this house configuration forms a direct Sambandha with the D9 Lagna, this specific structural alignment indicates that the financial path is deeply hardwired into your destiny from a past life, ensuring that in the current incarnation, you will inevitably reap the material fruits of those past-life karmas.

Usage in General Charts
In General, for any native to live life with an ample amount of money/resources with basic necessities, one needs a strong Abhijit Rashi. Some individuals have inherently strong indications in their chart like a strong planet sitting in the Abhijit Rashi or the lord of Abhijit Rashi being very strong in D9 and other divisional charts like D60. Normally, in my experience, I have seen that the native born in a decent, wealthy family with ancestral wealth will have a strong Vitteśvara in D9 chart. The quantum of wealth can be known by determining other factors in the chart. Source of wealth analysis: Evaluate the Vitteśvara’s sign placement in the D9 chart and assess its corresponding Chara Karaka (CK).
These principles can also be used in dasha as well. For example, if the lord of Abhijit Rashi is in a favorable condition, the dasha of this lord will bring wealth. Also, a planet placed in the Sun’s 4th House, if strong or in a good yoga, can also bring wealth to the native.
